Come si legge nel cartiglio sottostante, la parte cartacea conservata all’interno dei pannelli lignei, si riferisce alle messe celebrate dalla Faternita nell’anno 1728; le lunette delle tavole presentano in alto la Madonna della Misericordia, emblema e simbolo della Fraternita stessa sin dalla sua fondazione avvenuta nel 1262.
Description
As we read in the scrolls below, the paper part refers to the masses celebrated by the Rectors of the Fraternita of Lay during the year 1728. The two wooden supports are decorated in both upper lunettes with two version of the same subject: Our Lady of Mercy. This iconography has been the symbol and emblem of the Fraternity itself, since the foundation in 1262.
