Non si conoscono le vicende che hanno portato questo grande dipinto, datato e firmato da Bernardino Santini («Anno DNI MDCXXVIIII») a entrare nel patrimonio comunale e poi dell’ Ospedale di Santa Maria del Ponte, dove secondo gli antichi inventari, risulta già nel 1811.
Description
It is not known how this large painting, signed and dated by Bernardo Santini («Year of the Lord MDCXXVIIII»), came to be part of the city’s patrimony and later part of that of the Ospedale di Santa Maria del Ponte, where it had been displayed from 1811 until 1860.
