Come gli altri dipinti di questo genere presenti nella quadreria, anche questo sembra appartenere ad uno stesso ciclo, forse di mani diverse, di paesaggi decorativi eseguiti intorno alla fine del XVIII secolo destinati a ornare le stanze dell’antico palazzo di Fraternita -ben prima del nuovo reinsediamento dell’ente (nel 2010)- rimanendovi ininterrottamente durante i lunghi anni in cui l’edificio fu sede del tribunale cittadino.

Description

Like many other paintings of this genre in the collection, this appears to belong to a particular group of decorative landscapes executed by different artists. Painted around the end of the 18th century, these works were intended to decorate the rooms of the Fraternita’s Palace where they remained during the long period that the building was occupied by the city’s court.
