Si tratta probabilmente di un’opera derivata dall’attività dei giovani scultori della Scuola Libera di Disegno e Modellatura fondata in Fraternita nel 1806 e rimasta in vita fino al 1931. Il soggetto è ispirato alla scultura rinascimentale fiorentina e in particolare alle opere di Bernardo Rossellino, già architetto della facciata del Palazzo di Fraternita.

Description

This piece is probably derived from the activities of young sculptors in the Free School of Drawing and Modeling which was founded by the Fraternita in 1806 and remained in existence until 1931. The subject of this work was inspired by Florentine renaissance sculpture, in particular the works by Bernardo Rossellino who was formerly the architect for the central register of the façade of the Palace of the Fraternita dei Laici
